My work in the visual arts falls into one of three main categories: pretty pictures (fine art if you are being kind), recording the ephemeral urban landscape, and narative short film.
I've been taking photographs since I was about twelve, and in the intervining years some of them have turned out quite well, where subject, composition and exposure have combined to make an aesthetically pleasing result. Some I have put up on my own walls, and some are on other people's walls. If you would like any of them on your wall, please contact me.
My day job is as a museum archaeologist, a profession which has made me acutely aware of how little survives for posterity, even such solid seeming things as the built environment. Even more ephemeral are what happens within that built environment - the buskers, the street theatre and transient gatherings and events. I attempt to record some of these as I come across them, in both still photography and video.
As the saying goes, I have several projects in various stages of development. I'm new at this, part way up a steep learning curve, so I won't say too much about it here.
